The Prague Years of Nirmal Verma
A talk by Ashutosh Bhardwaj

The Indian writer-journalist Ashutosh Bhardwaj will talk about the author Nirmal Verma, who lived in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. Verma learned the Czech language while here and translated several Czech works into Hindi. He also set several of his short stories and his novel in Prague and they are an extraordinary window into live behind the Iron Curtain.

The talk, followed by discussion and refreshments, will be hosted by Embassy of India.
