The Announcement of the 2020 Residency Programme Results

Dear applicants,

first of all, thank you for all your applications. We received 417 applications from all around the world this year with lots of ideas, great projects and interesting points of view. Although we could not invite this time all of you, we have new positive information. For 2020, we can brighten the residency stays from 6 to 13. This time we could support thirteen of you, but we encourage you to work on your ideas and wish you luck in all your projects.

The committee agreed finally upon these thirteen names (in alphabetical order): Enkaryon Ang, Lavinia Balulescu, Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Dumitru Crudu, Paul Cuddihy, Danielle Dussault, Thórdís Helgadóttir, Nazli Karabiyikoglu, Sophie Mackintosh, Katrin Pauts, Marli Roode, Natalia Sherba, and Tomas Venclova.

The people in the committee were: Dana Kalinová – former director of the Book World Fair Prague, Bernie Higgins – translator and founder of the Poetry Day festival, Viktor Debnár – Arts and Theater Institute, and Kateřina Bajo – Prague City of Literature.

The schedule for 2020 will be:

  • January – February – Katrin Pauts and Danielle Dussault
  • March – April – Natalia Sherba and Marli Roode
  • May – June – Paul Cuddihy and Tomas Venclova
  • July – August – Thórdís Helgadóttir and Ashutosh Bhardwaj and Dumitru Crudu
  • September – October – Sophie Mackintosh and Enkaryon Ang
  • November – 15th December – Lavinia Balulescu and Nazli Karabiyikoglu

We'll inform all the residents about the residency details well ahead of time.
